Have a business plan even if its just written on paper. Idea of what you going to do.

Have a business name so you can advertise your business name. Instead of being Sue or Betty ....you are your business. That gives you more advertising. When you say the name "nowa's network" lot of people know who I am.

Sign up for free forums and social media places. Twitter, Facebook, yahoogroups all free to do. I look up yahoogroups that allow you to advertise at least one day a week. If they allow everyday they may not be that good of group...you can try it. If you get too much junk mail you can leave the group.

I set all my yahoo groups except the important ones to digest so I can check titles to see what pertains to what I want to read

If someone offers free advertising take advantage of it.

I also do a small amount of paid advertising. I do facebook ads, ryze ads, and occasionally add a banner to a site if I know that site has been around a while.

If you do banner advertising ask the owner how they advertise for you. You don't want to just throw up a banner on a site if the owner just interested in banner sales.

If you have your own site make sure you have good meta tags.

There are search engine optimisimers people who will add your site to search engines for a small fee. Ask the advertiser what search engines you are added to.

I spend at least an hour a day usually advertising. Advertising is part of my daily routine.   

Blogging been around for years. Blogging has had a come back. You don't have to have just a personal blog you can advertise your business on a blog. You can have others advertise on your blog. Blogging can be fun and profitable.   

Label everything...have a logo.. and share it everywhere. You notice if you see golden arches you think of McDonald's. You want to be a household name. Have that logo that everyone knows as you.

If you like to do Auctions you can open a ebay store or other auction site. Share your business name with your store.

Put your logo on your website, on your letter head, on your business card and your supplies, like pens

You can put up flyers at grocery stores and laundry mats. Any place that offers a bulletin board. Make sure you have your logo on your flyer.

If you have affordable catalogs you can leave them at laundry mats, doctor offices, and other places. Make sure its affordable for you to do.

catalogs can be put on your coffee table for others to view. Friends and neighbors might just pick up your catalog.

Most people today have more than one business. I try to make sure I have one website that list all my websites on one. This way if I want business cards, etc I can advertise one site for all. 

If you have a home party plan you can start by having an open house with friends at your homes. Ofcourse home parties is based on presentation and develop bookings. Once you get bookings you are on your way. 

If you have your own website do a link exchange. Search engines pick you up faster if you have several links on your site. Make sure your main page loads in fast. Shoppers on dial up will leave if you have a slow website.  

Overall, share your name wherever you can. If you can find a free place to  advertise make sure you share. Some businesses like Avon say share with 3 people a day and you be surprised how much business you will get.
